Happiest Place on Earth
I am still so proud of myself for not letting anything or anyone get in the way of my happiness. Shortly after Father's Day last year, my whole life was about to change forever. My husband and I were in the middle of mediations for a divorce. I had been considering joining my nieces and nephew in Disney for awhile. But, it made the decision to book a ticket much easier. It was in August and it was the same week as our 39th wedding anniversary. I made the mistake of looking at my memories on facebook, that day. But, then I decided not to look at those as much. And, just be happy in the present. Disney World is my happy place. I have experienced it with family and with friends. I have experienced it with migraines and horrible weather. Every visit never failed to bring out the kid in me. I love all the rides. I especially like all the mountain rides including Thunder Mountain, Slash Mountain and Space Mountain. It never gets boring, and they are always full days. Love to start the day with a Mickey Mouse waffle and end it with a shopping trip to Downtown Disney (now Disney Springs).
I really want to focus on what brings us joy. And, how when we focus on good guilt free pleasures, it can make us happy. We think back to our childhoods and what made us happy. Well, really not much, because we weren't really in control of our lives, our parents were. But, as we got older and experienced more freedom, we were able to find our way to living a happier life. So, I tend to think it is our freedom first, and then when we start to make our own money, we truly learn how to navigate our lives. We start to drive, and then we grab that steering wheel and start making choices of the directions of how to live happily. There was a time, when I was about thirteen, I started to collect antique and new pieces of dollhouse furniture. I am going to do my next post about this. But, I want to explain how I feel when I make dreams come true, without really knowing it. And, our childhood is one big giant manifestation of what our wishes are. I listened to this Disney record "Happiest Songs" for a long time. I would always be sitting on the floor and would close my eyes and be taken away to another world full of happiness. I think it was an early form of meditation for me and now I am realizing it.
Quote of the day: “Now, think of the happiest things. It's the same as having wings.” —Peter Pan
Song of the day: You Can Fly Peter Pan
